Why is it so loud? Can we make it less loud? Kinda hurts your ears when you crank up your volume trying to hear stuff

You could also turn down your MC volume a bit. There is a saftey limit to where how loud the volume must be to where its conider not safe for your eardrums ;)

Time to be annoying...

I agree with turning down volume or volume settings for things, however, new players that are not aware of the anvil sound coming from nowhere might actually hurt their ears if having turned their volume up while mining in caves etc.

As much as people just like having things as they always have been, its unecessary for the volume of that sound. Even if there is a safety limit in MC or the server, not sure how that works this doesn't apply to what kind of equipment you are using and the pre set level of output on your OS. Its all different from computer to computer. It could actually do damage to your eardrums since the level on a standard setting makes the sound go between 60 to 80 decibel, however while the volume is up its at 80 to 100. Anything over 85 db can cause permanent damage to the hair cells in the inner ear. If you are using an anvil you know the sound is coming, but not if you are trying to listen for ambient sounds down in mines with your volume on max
